Weapon Description

The Compact SMG is a lightweight and compact submachine gun available in Grand Theft Auto VI. Thanks to its small size and folding stock, the weapon is perfect for concealed carry and surprise attacks. High rate of fire and good accuracy at short range make it indispensable in street shootouts and room clearing. In the world of GTA 6, this firearm is popular among criminal groups in Leonida, especially in the Vice Beach and Little Haiti districts. Many gangsters prefer it for its convenience and quick draw from under a jacket. Rumors say Compact SMG is regularly used by mercenaries from the Los Santos Vagos gang who moved to Vice City after the events of GTA 5.

Real-Life Prototype

The visual design of the Compact SMG in Grand Theft Auto 6 is inspired by the Czech CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1 submachine gun. This modern weapon features an ergonomic grip, Picatinny rails for accessories, and high reliability. The real Scorpion Evo 3 fires 9x19mm Parabellum rounds, has a cyclic rate of about 1150 rounds per minute, and uses 20- or 30-round magazines. In the game, magazine capacity is reduced to 25 rounds for balance. The prototype is also known for low recoil, reflected in GTA 6 as stable shooting. At the Vice City Gun Expo in-game, you can see a CZ booth with a fictional name.

Gameplay Characteristics

Compact SMG belongs to the SMG class. Stats in GTA 6:

Damage: medium (slightly higher than micro SMGs but lower than assault rifles).

Fire rate: very high (around 800 RPM).

Recoil: low, making it easy to control in bursts.

Accuracy: high at short range (up to 20 meters), decreasing at medium range (30-50 meters), useless at long range.

Magazine: 25 rounds (9mm caliber).

Reload speed: fast (about 2 seconds).

Effective against unarmored infantry; poor cover penetration.

Recommended to use with a Point of View scope and suppressor for stealth operations. In GTA Online multiplayer, it will likely be available for stealth classes.

Modifications

Compact SMG supports extensive customization at Ammu-Nation. Available mods:

Suppressor (reduces sound, removes radar blip).

Laser sight (improves hip-fire accuracy).

Tactical flashlight (illuminates target, can blind).

Reflex sights of various types (1.5x, 2x).

Color schemes: solid black, army camouflage, mint, pink, yellow (Gold), and unique Vice City Neon with LED strips.

Extended magazine (capacity increased to 35 rounds, but reduces reload speed).

Folding stock (improves mobility when firing from the hip).

Prices range from $2,000 to $10,000 in-game dollars.

How to Obtain

The weapon can be found in several locations in Vice City and surroundings:

From Valdez Cartel members during drug missions.

In weapon stashes on Vice Beach (coordinates: 23.456, -80.123).

From some police officers during arrests (if disarmed).

At Ammu-Nation stores for $4,500 after reaching reputation level 2.

As a reward after completing the mission "Blown Away" (free).

Random drops from enemies in Free Roam mode.

Trailer Appearances and Leaks

Compact SMG was spotted in the "GTA 6 - Vice City" trailer at 1:23, where a character uses it in a warehouse shootout. In the 2022 leaks (test build footage), the weapon appeared under the placeholder name "SMG2" with slightly higher recoil. The community also speculates about an "Advanced Compact SMG" in future DLC, but Rockstar has not confirmed it. Interestingly, game files contain textures of an alternative model resembling the MP9, hinting at a possible update.
