Seagull
Description and Behavior
Seagulls are seabirds that will be present in the open world of GTA 6. Their appearance includes white plumage with gray or black back and wings, as well as yellow beaks and feet. In the game, seagulls behave realistically: they glide over water, gather in noisy flocks on beaches and ports, and can aggressively scavenge for food from tourists or near restaurants. Seagulls are known to react to the player's approach — they take off when in danger. They may also follow fishing boats or circle over trash bins.
In GTA 6, the behavior of seagulls is highly detailed: they change flight direction depending on the wind, and during severe storms they fly inland. Some individuals may be seen fighting over food, making characteristic calls and diving at competitors. Inspired by real observations in Miami, the developers added animations for preening feathers and bathing in puddles.
Habitat in Leonida
Seagulls are widespread along the entire coast of the state of Leonida, especially in the Vice City area. They can be found on beaches, in ports, on islands, as well as on inland waterways such as the canals of Vice City and the marshy areas of Grassrivers. They feel equally comfortable on sandy beaches, among mangroves, and on rocky embankments.
In the real world, the prototype for Leonida is Florida, so seagulls appear in locations resembling Miami Beach, Key West, and the Everglades. In the game, they are particularly numerous on Vice City Beach, along the downtown waterfront, and near cruise ship docks. In Vice City Port, seagulls nest on the roofs of warehouses and piers.
Interaction with the Player
In GTA 6, seagulls will be part of a living ecosystem. The player can observe them, toss food, and accidentally scare them away. Birds may be involved in random events, for example, reacting to gunshots or explosions. It is possible that seagulls will become targets of side missions or challenges, although there is no official confirmation yet. They may also serve as an atmospheric element, adding realism to the coast of Leonida.
According to leaks, GTA 6 will feature about 30 species of birds, with seagulls being among the most common. It is speculated that collecting a certain number of feathers or destroying nests could unlock an achievement or trophy. There are also rumors that seagulls may be used in a “Wildlife Photography” mini-game.
Appearance in Grand Theft Auto VI
Seagulls were confirmed in a list of animals that leaked online in January 2025. They have appeared in other games in the Grand Theft Auto series before, for example, in GTA V and its expansions, where they were collectibles. In GTA 6, they are expected to be ubiquitous and become an important part of the game world.
In the GTA 6 trailer, seagulls appear briefly in shots of the beach and port. The community actively discusses their possible role: some fans suggest that seagulls might indicate hidden objects, while others believe they will be part of a story mission related to fishing. According to insider information, Rockstar Games used procedural generation for seagull flocks to make their behavior seem natural.
